Hello boosters!
The countdown to the 2026 – 2027 season is in full swing! We are excited to start seeing the announcements for our players and get their apartments and welcome baskets together.
Our VP, Joe Bogart, will be the board member overseeing the Lending Closet. Kathy Veneziano will be the lead, with Lauren and Becky Reynolds remaining as our excellent supervisors.
For the Welcome Baskets:
We are continuing with welcome baskets for individual rooms/players. The baskets are designed to help our Steelheads with some food/pantry staples for their first couple days in town. We are asking for the baskets to be generic, since player assignment to the rooms will not be known by us. We would like to prepare thirty (30) baskets. Our goal is to provide for any new players who join the team after the start of the season.
Please stick to a $100 limit for each basket. All items should be shelf-stable and pre-packaged. Some suggestions for items are protein drinks, jerky, chips, top ramen, instant oatmeal, pasta, canned or packets of tuna, crackers, etc. We would also suggest maybe a few gift cards. Walmart and Albertsons are conveniently located near the apartments, and Door Dash/Uber Eats are always appreciated as well. Please include a Welcome Card (do not seal the envelope) with a personal message signed from you. Let us know if you need a card; there may be a couple available.
We will provide where to drop off the baskets and the deadline when it gets closer to the start of the season, but plan for delivery at the end of September. This will allow us to get them placed in the apartments prior to the team’s arrival.
If you sign up to provide a basket and discover that you cannot fulfill your obligation, please reach out to us and we will see what we can do to help you.
Donations are welcome if you would prefer to do that instead of shopping for the items yourself. Please reach out to Kathy and she can assist you with a donation.
The ISBC will be providing a case of water and some Keurig K cups for each apartment.
Starting 7/18/2026, you will be able to register via Wild Apricot to secure your basket. Your registration will count as signing up for one basket. If you want to make multiple baskets, enter in the additional number you want to provide.
